Hays International recruits for an french International firm, a Geotechnical / Dilapidation Engineer.
As part of the team of the line 3 Cairo subway project - construction of 12,2 kilometres of track (tunnel construction : Herrenknecht - Ø: 9,40 m) and 9 stations – the Geotechnical/Dilapidation Engineer will be in charge of the monitoring team and the soil investigation and dilapidation consultants.
He/She will report to the subcontracted Works Manager.
• Production
- Follows up, reviews, validates data/reports provided by : the soil investigation subcontractor and consultant and the dilapidation consultant, before, during and after the works.
- Analyses and summarizes soil related data collected by the monitoring team during the work such as: piezometers, inclinometers, deep and surface settlements/movements.
- Analyses and interprets soil data gathered during the tunneling works.
• Safety
- Makes sure that all safety regulations are applied permanently, more specifically that the soil investigation and monitoring works are carried out safely for the working personnel and for third parties.
- Must warn in due time of any unexpected and potentially dangerous soil movements or unexpected geological events posing a threat to structures or persons.
• Quality
- Must make sure that all investigations, measurements, analysis and reports are carried out according to the state of the art.
Geothechnical Engineer with 5 to 10 years experience in underground works,
Good knowledge of civil/geotechnical engineering,
Good knowledge of soil monitoring devices and their use,
English spoken and written mandatory,
Serious, capable to strictly follow procedures, Leader, Good physical condition : must be fit for hyperbaric works up to 3.5 bars.
